The first event of Gov.-elect Nathan Deal's inaugural celebration will be a day filled with volunteer service opportunities throughout the state of Georgia.
"With a Servant's Heart" will offer volunteers an opportunity to participate in 17 service projects in eight Georgia communities on Saturday, Jan. 8.
"Through his personal record of service, the governor-elect has set an example for all Georgians," said Tricia Pridemore. "'With a Servant's Heart' is a day for Georgians to respond and act on needs within their own region."
The planned service events range from collecting and sorting canned food to a day of health care services at a Georgia clinic. Participation in the events is open to the public and the tasks will be varied by location.
