Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments. Brief biographies are provided below:

Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Fund Commission

Henry R. Craig, 62, Milledgeville – Craig retired as an assistant chief pilot with Continental Airlines. He also retired from the U.S. Army as a Regular Army Officer. Craig earned an associate’s degree from Georgia Military College, a bachelor’s degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and a master’s degree from Webster University. He and his wife, Celia Ann, have two children and four grandchildren.

Andrew C. Dennison, M.D., 32, Augusta – Dennison is the medical director of brain injury rehabilitation at Walton Rehabilitation Health Systems. He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine and the Brain Injury Special Interest Group. Dennison earned a bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He and his wife, Olivia, have one child.

Julia L. Mikell, M.D., 58, Savannah – Mikell is a physician and neurologist at Savannah Neurology Specialists and an assistant clinical professor of Neurology at the Medical College of Georgia. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, Georgia Neurologic Society, American Society of Neuro Rehabilitation, Medical Association of Georgia and the American Sleep Disorders Association. She is also a board member of the St. Joseph’s/Candler Foundation, Pine Woods Savannah and vice co-chair of Pinewoods Retreat. Mikell earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She and her husband, Charles, have three children.

T. Jane Warnock, 47, Eastman – Warnock is an assistant accountant/payroll specialist at Ocmulgee Electric Membership Corporation. She previously worked as an emergency medical technician at Dodge County Hospital. She received her emergency medical technician certification at Heart of Georgia Medical College. Warnock is a member at Bethlehem Baptist Church. She and her husband, Howard, have one child and survive one child.


Georgia Board of Nursing

Nancy G. Robinson, 54, Sandersville – Robinson is an administrator at Chaplinwood Health and Rehabilitation. She is an active member of the Georgia Health Care Association, American College of Health Care Administrators, Baldwin County Retirement Community Committee, American Society for Quality and the Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce. Robinson is licensed as a registered nurse and a nursing home administrator and earned a nursing degree from Georgia College and State University. She has two children and three grandchildren.


Georgia Film, Music & Video Advisory Commission

Kenric “Ric” L. Reitz, 54, Marietta – Reitz is president of Rick Reitz Writes, Inc, a 27-time international award-winning writing company. He has appeared in over 100 national television shows, feature films and state productions, plus more than 1,000 commericals and corporate presentations. He is a member of the Director’s Guild of American, Writer’s Guild of America, Screen Actors Guild, America Federation of Television & Radio Artists and the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences. He is also a member of the Recording Academy, Broadcast Music, Inc., and the Actor’s Equity Association. He is past president and a member of the board of the Georgia Public Partnership. Reitz earned a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University. He and his wife, Noël, have two children.


Georiga State Board of Architects and Interior Designers

Andrew J. Pace, 48, Lawrenceville, Public Member (Reappointment) – Pace is director of new development for Hotel Equities, Inc. He has served as a board member of the Georgia State Board of Architects and Interior Designers since 1999, and is chairman of the Sigma Nu Fraternity Housing Corporation. He served as a trustee of the Georgia State University Foundation Board and was an advisory board member of the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality at Georgia State University. Pace earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University and a master’s degree from Mercer University. He and his wife, Andrea, have three children.


Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District Governing Board

Reginald E. Prime, 50, Lilburn – Prime is the director of environmental affairs for Coca-Cola Enterprises. He is a charter member of the 2003 class of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership, served as a member of the statewide advisory committee for the development of Georgia’s Comprehensive Water Management Plan, is a member of the environment and sustainability committee of the Metropolitan Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and a member of the 2011 class of Leadership Atlanta. He is chairman of the board of directors and chairman of the executive committee of the non-profit organization Students Without Mothers. Prime earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida. He and he wife, Lynn, have three grown children.


Public Health Commission

Jimmy Burnsed, 70, Richmond Hill – Burnsed is the chairman and chief executive officer of Bryan Bank & Trust. He is the chairman of both the Bryan County Board of Commissioners and the Bryan County Board of Health and is a member of the Richmond Hill Rotary Club and the Richmond Hill Lions Club. He also serves on the Coastal Regional Commission Council. Burnsed attended Armstrong State College. He and his wife, Becky, have four children, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.


Lynne Feldman, M.D., MPH, 65, Valdosta – Feldman is the district health director for District 8-1. She is also the medical director for Partnership Health Center and serves as chair of the Quality and Safety Committee for the South Georgia Medical Center Hospital Authority. She is board certified in both Pediatrics and Preventative Medicine. She is a member of the Lowndes/Valdosta Hospital Authority and is a member and past-president of the Georgia Public Health Association. She is an active member of the Georgia chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is chair of the Public Health committee. She has received both the Jules S. Terry Memorial Award for Leadership in Public Health (2001) and the GlaxoSmithKline Child Health Recognition Award (2001). Feldman earned a bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University, a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, and a master’s degree from Emory University. She has two children.


John T. “Ted” Holloway, M.D., 68, Hoboken – Holloway retired as District Health Director for the Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Public Health, Southeast Health Unit. He serves on the board of directors of the Healthcare Georgia Foundation, Advisory Council for Public Health and is a member of the Medical Association of Georgia and the Georgia Public Health Association. Holloway earned a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College and a medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He and his wife, Linda, have one child and two grandchildren.

Diane Z. Weems, M.D., 54, Savannah – Weems is the chief medical officer for the Chatham County Health Department and Coastal Health District. She also serves as the medical director for the Chatham County Health Department Laboratory and is an adjunct faculty member of the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health at Georgia Southern University. Her professional associations include the American and the Georgia Public Health Associations, Georgia Medical Society, American Public Health Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is chair of the Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council, Inc., and is on the board of directors for Step Up Savannah and the Savannah Country Day School. Weems earned a bachelor’s degree and a medical degree from the University of Florida. She and her husband, David, have two children.

Phillip L. Williams, Ph.D., 57, Watkinsville – Williams is the founding dean of the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia and he also holds the Georgia Power Professorship of Environmental Health Science in the College’s Department of Environmental Health Science. He has authored over 100 publications including 2 textbooks on toxicology. Prior to coming to UGA in 1993, he was the vice president of the Environmental Health Safety Division of A. T. Kearney from 1988 to 1993, a senior research scientist with the Georgia Tech Research Institute from 1978 to1988, and an industrial hygienist with the USDOL/OSHA from 1975 to 1978. Williams earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University and a doctoral degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He and his wife, Theda, have two children and two grandchildren.
