Win FREE cookies for a year contest begins Monday, March 2
Over 3.5 million boxes of Girl Scout Cookies are currently on their way to local Girl Scouts and their eagerly awaiting customers. But remember, the cookies you buy are more than just cookies – they are a lasting investment in a girl’s future and your community.
This year, Girl Scout troops around Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta’s 34-county service area are once again selling the famous Thin Mints, Samoas, Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Tagalongs, Lemon Chalet Crèmes and Sugar Free Chocolate Chip cookies along with a new, Latin-inspired addition – Dulce de Leche cookies. Girls will not only be offering you one of America’s tastiest treats, but a chance for you to provide funds for the premier leadership program for girls. Each variety sells for $3.50 per box or $42 per case (12 boxes- mix and match).
For those who have yet to purchase cookies from a Girl Scout, look for Girl Scout Cookie booth sales outside of local businesses beginning Saturday, Feb. 28. For a list of Cookie Booth Sale locations near you, visit the COOKIE LOCATOR on the council’s Web site at www.girlscoutsofgreateratlanta.org to search by your city or county. Check the Web site regularly as new locations are posted daily.
You can also buy cookies without having to get out of your car! Cookies will be sold Monday, March 2-Friday, March 6, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 7, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Girl Scout Service Centers in Atlanta and Griffin. The Dalton Girl Scout Service Center drive-thru will be Monday, March 2-Friday, March 6, 4-7 p.m. and Saturday, March 7, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. These unique cookie booth sales will provide customers the luxury of driving up for quick and friendly service to get their favorite varieties of Girl Scout Cookies. As with any cookie booth sale, those who don’t wish to purchase cookies for their own consumption can still assist Girl Scouts by making a purchase and donating the cookies to a troop’s designated recipient such as military troops and community food banks.
Win FREE Girl Scout Cookies for a year! Visit our Web site www.girlscoutsofgreateratlanta.org Monday, March 2 - Saturday, March 14 and enter the Vote 4 your favorite Girl Scout Cookie contest for your chance to win FREE Girl Scout Cookies for a year (52 boxes).
And remember, Girl Scout Cookies are safe. The peanut butter used in Girl Scout Tagalongs® and Do-si-dos®, are not sourced from Peanut Corporation of America, the supplier recently implicated by the FDA in their ongoing investigation of a recent Salmonella outbreak.
Girl Scout Cookies have long been a major fundraiser for girls and their troops across the region, and is an integral part of Girl Scouting’s business and economic literacy initiative for girls ages 5-17. The program provides finance, marketing and public speaking skills as well as valuable experiences that develop girls’ personal leadership style. No other program offers girls so much in developing courage, confidence and character – and it all starts with a box of cookies. Proceeds from the cookie program fund activities for individual troops as well as Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, including financial assistance for girls to participate in events, program fees, volunteer recruitment, training and maintenance of seven camp properties.
