The new Center will offer comprehensive cardiovascular treatments and in-office cardiac and vascular diagnostic testing. Martha Smith, MD, assistant professor of cardiology, Emory University School of Medicine, will be the chief cardiologist at the Emory Heart & Vascular Center of Middle Georgia.
“The services we’ll provide will allow us to assist with the many healthcare needs of the people of this region,” Smith says. “We will be offering a diverse menu of cardiology services and excellent patient care.”
In addition to the Emory Heart & Vascular Center of Middle Georgia, Emory HealthConnection of Middle Georgia will offer a central location for patients and physicians to work directly with an Emory nurse (LPN) to schedule appointments, receive referrals and provide or request patient charts and medical histories. Patients will also be able to sign up for Emory Healthcare educational seminars and learn about clinical trials.
