Road Resurfacing Funding Up Seven Percent

About 36 miles of Gwinnett County roads will be resurfaced using almost $5.2 million approved by the Board of Commissioners on Tuesday. That total includes $2.46 million from the state’s Local Assistance Road Program, an increase of almost seven percent over last year.

County funds from the 2001 SPLOST program will provide the local share of almost $1.5 million. “We appreciate the continued financial support of the Georgia Department of Transportation to assist with our ongoing road improvement program for drivers in Gwinnett County,” said Kim Conroy, Deputy Director for Operations, Maintenance and Planning for the County’s Department of Transportation.
