Secretary Handel Announces New Website Resources

Secretary of State Karen Handel today announced the launch of two new website resources, an Elections Update Mailing List and an RSS feed. These resources will help Georgians stay informed about important election dates and deadlines, and the latest information from the agency’s seven divisions.

“Effective customer service and responsible government are developed through a commitment to transparency and communication,” Secretary Handel said. “Georgians can use these communications tools to stay informed and more actively participate in state government.”

The Elections Update Mailing List will send users e-mails regarding upcoming election dates; voter registration deadlines; candidate qualifying procedures; how to request an absentee ballot; dates for advance voting; reminders to bring photo identification to the polls and more.

Membership to the Elections Update Mailing List is voluntary, and users may unsubscribe at any time. To subscribe to the Mailing List, visit www.sos.ga.gov/elections.

The RSS feed allows users to receive updates from the Secretary of State’s divisions through their web browser, including division press releases and agency announcements. To subscribe to the RSS feed, visit http://www.sos.ga.gov/pressrel/rss.htm.

Karen Handel was sworn in as Secretary of State in January 2007. The Secretary of State’s office offers important services to our citizens and our business community.
