Governor Perdue Announces Judicial Appointment

Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following judicial appointment:

· Henry M. Newkirk – Superior Court, Atlanta Judicial Circuit. The vacancy was created by the resignation of the Honorable Stephanie Manis.

Brief biography is provided below:

Henry M. Newkirk, 54, Atlanta, GA – Newkirk has practiced law in Georgia since 1983. He has served on the State Court of Fulton County since 1998. Newkirk is a board member with the Wesley Woods Foundation and a member of the Chastain Park Conservancy. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and his law degree from Woodrow Wilson College of Law. He and his wife Lynn have one daughter.
